Welcome to the Fred Hughes Blog. I'm currently a student at KU and building a basic blog and website because I'm bored and it seems like fun. I'm majoring in communications and will most likely go to Law School. I plan to specialize in technology and the internet. On my mom's side I am a distant relative of the late Howard Hughes, Founder of Hughes Corporation. I wonder if his engineering genes are in me and if he were alive today, I bet he would have built something like Google, Cisco, or YouTube rather than aircraft or movies.
It's funny, I'm from rural Kansas where cable internet or DSL are not available and everyone is on dialup, wireless internet or satellite internet. The satellite internet dishes used to say Direcway on them, but now they all say HughesNet. I didn't think HughesNet had anything to do with Hughes Corporation until I Google'd them and found out that the Hughes Electronics did found Hughes Network Systems and that my great, great, uncle's name is all over those Hughes Net Dishes..
Once I learn CSS or some other fancy design skills, I will redesign this blog and make it better.
